I have been a registered member of the British Reflexology
Association since qualifying with their teaching body, the Bayly School of Reflexology, in 1993.
Last year I was accepted as a member of
the Centre for Clinical Reflexology, and more recently accepted onto the register of the General Regulatory Council for Complementary
Therapies, both of whom demand a particularly high level of experience and professionalism. Membership requires a commitment
to ongoing professional development, keeping abreast of current thinking and research
through reading and attendance at lectures and seminars.
In pursuing my interest in
working with expectant women, I have recently completed a course "Caring for Pregnant Clients" promoting an integrated
approach to the care of pregnant women, with the appropriate use of reflexology in conjunction with conventional maternity
care.
