The Centre for Clinical
Reflexology
This is a professional body for reflexologists working clinically. It was initially founded to give a voice
on the Reflexology Forum to UK reflexologists so they could join in the process of regulation.
Since then it has developed to provide support and information to both reflexologists and clients. The Centre has participated
in both the reflexology-specific and the generic sections of the National Occupational Standards mentioned in the GRCCT section
below.
British Reflexology Association
Having qualified with their official teaching body, The Bayly School of Reflexology, this is
the professional body with whom I have remained registered. Along with the Centre for Clinical Reflexology, it is a member
of the Reflexology Forum (see below).
The General Regulatory Council for Complementary Therapies (GRCCT)
The GRCCT's main function is to act
in the interest of the public, with procedures that are open and accountable to them. It has been working the Government
Sector Skills Council, Skills for Health, on a review of national occupational standards for complementary therapies, and
satisfies
both government and Department of Health criteria. It also demonstrates the professionalism of those practioners registered
with it, and that of their professional associations, in my case the Centre for Clinical Reflexology and the British Reflexology
Association. My registration number is 642091.
The Reflexology Forum
The
Forum is an umbrella organisation, encompassing many of the main Reflexology associations, working towards the development
of a core curriculum with a common set of standards for practice and training in Reflexology in order to protect the
public. In addition, it aims to promote research into Reflexology and compile a single register of Reflexologists working
in the UK.

Expectancy
This is the organisation with whom I have recently completed the "Caring for Pregnant Clients"
course. They provide consultancy services for expectant parents, maternity care professionals and complementary
therapists. Their courses are university approved, and they provide training for NHS trusts and higher and further education
institutions both in the UK and overseas.
